Coffee Chat...Halloween Stuff day 29

Hey everybody! I am cruisin' in here late for coffee chat with Rory from Time Out For Mom. In fact, I am so late she has probably washed her coffee cup and gone to bed. She will forgive me though, I just know it. Hee Hee!

Anyway, today she was discussing all about Halloween stuff. Well, if you have not been too high on chocolate, then you know, that is just right up my alley this month.

Let me tell you. I have a good one for you today and a little sneak peak. Check this out!

Halloween Day 26...A thrift store gem

I have been waiting for the right time to share my little gems from a recent trip to a local thrift store. We have several stores in the area but I decided to go into this particular one this day. After all, they were having 50% off the entire store.

There are actually 4 of these glasses that I bought but I could not find the other to take the photos with. I paid only $1.50 for the set.
The are made really well and have a heavier weight to them but not too heavy. I love the detail too. Don't you?

I ended up buying a bunch more at the store, However, these were my first finds of the day and were going home with me no matter what!
~Naila Moon PS>Check back tomorrow because you might find some spooky tales being told by a "spook". *grins*

The Paranormal Explorer, Obake Hunter Interview...Halloween day 25...Friday stuff

Hello my friends. Today it is my distinct pleasure to introduce you to an absolutely fascinating person that I met on Facebook. He can be found HERE. He is also quickly becoming a good friend with an interesting job. Upon finding out what he does and his experiences, I asked him if he would be willing to do an interview with me as part of my Halloween month.   He has been more than gracious. Here is that interview with Obake Hunter,  Paranormal Explorer. ~Naila Moon ----------------------
Hello Obake and welcome to my blog, Just The Stuff Ya Know.We are here to discuss you and your unusual profession of paranormal research.
Aloha, Naila Moon and a pleasure to be here and to answer your questions about myself and what I do in beautiful but very haunted Hawaii.
What is your specific area of expertise?
Just to start things off and answer your first question I am what I call a paranormal explorer. Although I took the title of ghost hunter early on my respect for this topic has lead me to a… back to your regularly scheduled program

After I suppose I depressed the heck out of everyone with my post earlier today, You certainly deserve to read this one. Come back tomorrow for an amazing interview I had with a paranormal investigator and to link up for Friday follow. You do not want to miss!

Enjoy! ~Naila Moon

Thankful Thursday...Please indulge me a moment. 10/24/13

Today I wish to share with you something that is kind of deep and certainly personal. I hope that my words will make you think a moment and reflect about how thankful that we should be but more importantly, how grateful I am.

I am only 45 years old and have suffered some losses that are somewhat unimaginable for someone my age.
The first real loss I had was as a young teen. My most beloved Great-Grandma passed away. Although still quite young, I felt her loss probably more than any of my cousins or even my brothers can feel to this day.

She was a story teller and told me stories that were probably so far-fetched that most people would not believe them. Yet, all of them...true.  She was a well-know member of her community, a former school teacher, a person who helped the poor during the depression and a real true to life, suffragist.
I admired her.

My second real loss came when I was in my early 20's.

A boy, whom was a crush when I was in grade school and whom later I would go on …

Wordless(ish) Wed....Halloween day 23

Review of Vamplets...Halloween day 22

I had the extreme pleasure to review one of the absolutely most adorable creature babies on the planet, Vamplets. In actuality, I found out that I had "adopted" her but I digress.

This ones name is Midnight Mori. I was even able to go to their website and fill out a certificate for her and print it if I want. There are several different vamplets and others available to take home and their price for "adoption" is very reasonable.

Here I talk more about my little Vamplet girl. Check it out!

Here is something else you should know about On their site, they ask you to give blood. Yes, the real stuff to the human counterparts. When you do, you receive a cool sticker and also get entered into your very own vamplet.

Oh, there is more.

If you buy a BAD (Bats Are Deserving) wrist band a portion of  your purchase goes to a World Bat Sanctuary in Texas that rescues and cares for injured and orphaned bats.

In addition, if you purchase this little guy, Hector, a d…

A Halloween story...Coffee Chat.

Today I am hanging out with Rory at Time Out For Mom. She has Tuesday coffee chats and some prompt to chat about. (Rory, hope you do not mind that I changed your coffee cup a bit.)

This week we are finishing a story line.  The first part is in itallics (her prompt) and the other is me finishing the story. Enjoy! ~Naila Moon

It was a dark and stormy night.

The rain pelted against the tin roof of the old house.   The wind shook it's windows.
A stormy symphony of sound that raised the hairs on your arms...and sent the cat into hiding somewhere in the dark corners of the manse.   How could a night that was supposed to be so full of sweet promise - turn so frighteningly sour?

The storm had knocked out the satellite.    Alone in the dark and with nothing to occupy her thoughts,  Amy sat on the very edge of the couch; nervously wringing her hands.  The soft glow of the fire casting shadows upon her pale face.
Suddenly two bright beams cut the darkness through a dirty streaked window.  The…

Giveaway: Two Tickets to see "I'm In Love With A Church Girl" movie starring #JaRule and #AdrienneBailon

When I was a mere 15 years old, I met my very first true boyfriend. He was the love of my life and seriously, my life revolved around him a lot. It was also the first time, I learned to become a bit stealth. His Momma hated me but we still dated for years, just under the radar of her watchful eyes. Have you ever had a crush that changed EVERYTHING? Miles Montego has it all. Including a past, but when Miles meets Vanessa Leon, a woman who is different than every other woman he’s met, he is drawn to her beauty and her faith. Increasingly, he is torn between a life that he knows and a love that he feels. As Vanessa experiences his lavish lifestyle, mobster-type friends, and encounters with past women, Vanessa must reconcile her faith in God and her growing love for Miles. I’M IN LOVE WITH A CHURCH GIRL is a powerful, inspiring story of a love between a man and a woman, a gift of second chances, and a family at home and in church that never stops praying and believing.I’m in Love With a …

Triple F Friday and Halloween Day 18!

Raise the flag, it's Friday!

We had a bit of snow here this morning but nothing major. It was certainly pretty while it lasted.
Anyway, we all know that Fridays are for following, free and fun. I am here late but that does not mean I cannot join in still or better too!  Link up with some of my pals below and find some new ones too. Let's go!

What do you think the answers are to these? Tell me in a blog comment.
How do you fix a damaged jack-o-lantern?What is a skeleton's favorite musical instrument? What dog breed would Dracula love to have as a pet? Over at Create with Joy, she is talking about those crafty things we are doing or finishing up.  I thought I would share a temporary Halloween painting I made for our apartment.

Make sure to link up with this gal too! Happy Friday! ~Naila Moon

Thankful Thursday...10/17/13...Halloween recipe

Can you believe it is Thursday? It seems like time is just flying by at a break neck speed. I cannot even seem to get caught up with things.

Today as I do every Thursday, I am taking time out to be grateful for those people, place and things I need on a daily basis to be grateful for. If you wish to join me, leave me a comment and I will come visit.

If you will indulge me a moment...

My blog friend, Mama Kat posted a writing prompt today ( A pumpkin inspired craft or recipe) and it got me to thinking.

As the holidays do continue to fast approach, my thoughts always turn to family. I miss them so much. I was thinking about something I used to do with them around this time but also with daycare children I worked with for many years.

I would allow the kids to make a simple pumpkin pudding. It gave the kids freedom to "cook" but also to smell something wonderful and also, get to do something they normally would not get to do.
Of course the best part for them and me, was eating …
