The beautiful ballet the Nutcracker is one of the most recognized ballets for the Christmas season. With the music of Tchaikovsky and the Sugar Plum Fairies, it is sure to be part of the wonderment of Christmas. It is one of my personal favorite ballets.

That is why I was excited when I got the chance to review the Nutcracker Music Game for children. This award winning game is excellent for teaching children listening skills.

The premise is as children go through the different screens they achieve keys in order to save the Nutcracker. Children learn to use their memory and listening skills in order to achieve these keys. The game itself has 9 different games of achievement.

The game is listed for 4-10 year old children but as we went through just the first few screens it was obvious that it would be better suited for the older child. Younger children would enjoy the music and the awesome animation but would need help navigating through the game.

The only thing I had wished about this game was  more of the music of Tchaikovsky could have been listened too. After awhile I wanted more and really think kids would too.

However, I did think it was really cool that one of the places you could go was to learn about the composer and see his picture. In fact, there is a whole encyclopedia just waiting to be explored which includes things about the different instruments, the history of the ballet, trivia and so much more. The animation in this game really is remarkable!

Overall, I would recommend the Nutcracker Music Game for any child who loves music. I could also see this being used by Music teachers as a unit for Christmas. Children will grow their musical vocabulary with this one.

Hickies Shoe Lacing System #Review #LifeWithoutLaces @usfg

Have you ever had a problem keeping your shoe laces tied? I have this problem all of the time and it drives me nutty. I work on my feet all day and inevitably, my shoe laces come undone and I am tripping over them. Even double tying them does not help. Alas, I found the perfect solution in a little gem called Hickies! I know the name sounds funny but these little plastic "ties" pack a wallop.

All I had to do was take out my existing shoe laces and then replace each one with the plastic "tie" into each hole. It was seriously easy! The system allows the user to put the "laces" in different ways too. I used the regular fit but I could have chosen to use a looser or tighter fit.
Check out this video that shows how easy it really is. HICKIES LACING SYSTEM-REGULAR FIT

As you can see, my Hickies are red. I also received a gray pair but wanted to use the red. They actually come in all sorts of fun colors to fit the users style. Kids can use them in their shoes t…
